Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency you'll need to manually vacuum. Choose a robot vacuum with good navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and that has large bins that only needs to be emptied periodically.
There are also models that mop and charge on their own which can be essential for those who have pets or children. The top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a great choice for people who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually when it fills up.
Both robots are proficient in removing dirt and dust particles on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and -- the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our top choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin, which removes a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets, and then pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to suit the task. It is able to quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.
The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments and the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests show. This is a typical and not a remarkable time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home but not long enough to get every single area (though the second time around usually can be effective). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is an affordable model that's a good choice for people who don't want to invest too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and frequently goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often will run out of battery before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects because it has fewer components that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a better battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode on its own, comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings, and more. It's simple to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our testing of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. However, it didn't do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested, and this could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that can be accessed through the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you check in on your children or pets when you're away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that's self-emptying to keep the robot's dustbin clear and maximizes suction power for each cleaning.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard flooring. They come with a wide cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than other models to keep the area free of debris for the longest period of time. Plus, they include two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level based on whether it is collecting surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also has a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.
The application also allows you to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug, for example has a dark-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. robot vacuum cleaner on sale HRV 425BL however was able to continue to move across the border without registering the high point. The ability to create weekly cleaning schedules is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
